Introduction

Overview

This position serves as leader in several key data related areas for ADUSA Finance; the overall data strategy, governance and management of critical financial data - to include master data - and the strategic use of Finance data across Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) as well as globally to ensure alignment. This position is responsible for leading a team (both direct and indirect) in the development and implementation of a cohesive data strategy, policies and standards, standard data management processes related to data quality, use and change, as well as an overall data governance framework that establishes the right level of leadership and accountability for data across ADUSA Finance. The Director role will also serve as a thought leader and strategic advisor, bringing best practices in data governance, data management, data integration, automation and master data management to the business from industry groups and other industries. This role will develop and implement a vision for industry best-in-class finance data governance to enable delivery of critical priorities - leveraging data at scale. The Director role will routinely collaborate with the ADUSA Finance Leadership team, EU and GSO Finance, Brand Finance teams and other key ADUSA stakeholders (i.e., IT) to implement the data governance framework and ensure best practice alignment and proper use of data. Additionally, this role will lead the dayโ€‘toโ€‘day execution of the data governance and management operating model in the US, coordinating crossโ€‘functional and crossโ€‘brand alignment with standards on use of data at all levels of the organization from executive leadership to individual contributors.

Schedule and Authorization

Our flexible/Hybrid work schedule includes 3 inโ€‘person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME or Quincy, MA.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a fullโ€‘time basis.

Responsibilities
  • Build and lead the data governance and management operating model within ADUSA Finance to include standard processes, policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive vision and strategy for ADUSA Finance data that provides the right level of guardrails to align the organization in a common direction.
  • Manage the dayโ€‘toโ€‘day execution of standard data management processes related to master data change, data issue resolution, quality management, demand and use.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key business stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of an effective governance framework and reporting structure.
  • Coordinate crossโ€‘functional and global alignment regarding data policies and standards related to quality management, change and use of data at all levels of the organization from executive leadership to individual contributors.
  • Develop data governance and management related metrics to drive ongoing evaluation and improvement across key operating model components (i.e., policies, standards, processes, etc.).
  • Provide thought leadership and actively engage in industry data initiatives, forums and working groups representing ADUSA and being a voice to leverage scale and technology and to align brands and functional leaders through the ADUSA Finance Governance Model, ADUSA Data Governance Council and crossโ€‘functional forums for data and technology usage.
  • Oversee and provide strategic leadership, direction and management across ADUSA Finance for largeโ€‘scale data related initiatives (i.e., SAP, Data Foundation Work, Finance Transformation Roadmap, etc.).
  • Partner with the Accounting controls team to implement appropriate dataโ€‘related controls across the data lifecycle to improve the quality of critical Finance data.
  • Lead the overall dataโ€‘related education and training across ADUSA Finance to improve the skills and competencies related to data governance and management across all levels of the organization.
  • Serve as the Business Owner for the master data management application โ€“ SAP MDG โ€“ and crossโ€‘reference process โ€“ working closely with IT to ensure that strong controls are in place around the use and sensitivity of financial data.

  • Deep expertise in the implementation of data strategy, governance frameworks, operating models, and key data management processes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in a sophisticated multiโ€‘ERP system environment that includes SAP financials.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered as a substitute for the Bachelor's degree on an exception basis.
  • 15+ years of previous business consulting/industry or related experience.
  • 8+ years in Data Governance or related experience.
  • Experience working in a global, multiโ€‘vendor environment.
  • A minimum of 10 years of dynamic experience in leadership roles within Finance, Accounting, or financial data analytics and reporting.

Salary Range NC, PA, ME: $139,120 โ€“ $208,680

Salary Range MA: $160,000 โ€“ $240,000

Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
