Overview:

The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for all matters pertaining to Medicaid recertifications from beginning to end.  If a patient falls off the roster due to recertification drop off the Finance Coordinator is responsible to make sure the patient gets back on Medicaid.  The Finance Coordinator is also responsible for 3559-LDSS conversions to secure Nursing Home coverage.  This position also covers banking when the Resident Accounts Coordinator is not in the building.  This position works closely with HMO case management, Medicaid Coordinators, as well as the social work department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Entry Level - with On-the-Job Training Provided!

  • 1 year of experience in finance

  • Mathematical, logical, and analytical skills; financial management abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Contact and assist residents/family members with the processing of Medicaid recertifications/3559-LDSS conversions. 

  • Enters and updates tracking tool for Medicaid recertifications on a weekly basis and as needed. 

  • Process and prepare financial forms for the purpose of submission, follow-up, and correct cases as needed 

  • Solid communication skills; both written and verbal with clients, co-workers, and management always. 

  • Perform routine calculations and reports. 

  • Review and adhere to department budgets. 

  • Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets. 

  • Review and audit financial statements and other documents pertaining to Medicaid. 

  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients for cases that fall under the category of Medicaid recertification.

  • Assist the financial director in creating financial reports on a regular basis or when needed

  • Adhere to the company's or organization's financial policies and procedures 

  • Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers and senior executives.
