At Re:Build we deploy deep expertise in engineering, operations management, and technology to supercharge the performance of our member companies. We leverage deep professional expertise and a candid, principled operating culture to drive differentiated outcomes. Ours is a fast-paced environment where individuals can stretch and be challenged to pursue their fullest potential.
Re:Build was founded to pioneer a profitable model for the revitalization of US manufacturing. We've assembled a powerful set of complimentary capabilities and lines of business that enable us to pursue a wide range of end markets. Our acquired businesses are grounded in build-to-print and by-the-hour engineering and design services, and we're leveraging their combined expertise to migrate to increasingly sophisticated program development and production, as well as the generation of our own products. Our unique set of capabilities lend themselves to highly complex systems and products, and we offer customers a range of services including product and systems design, automation, fabrication, assembly, and large volume contract manufacturing. Our customers span a wide array of industries including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a highly capable and adaptable Accounting Manager to lead financial operations across various early-stage business units with their own unique business models spanning AI-powered software, SaaS and technology services, hardware/drone technology, and manufacturing.
This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting rigor and startup operational agility. You'll be managing the financial complexities of multiple businesses simultaneously- each at different stages of maturity, with different revenue models, cost structures, and reporting needs. You'll need to bring order to ambiguity while maintaining the flexibility these emerging businesses require.
The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments where "building the plane while flying it" is the norm. You're energized by the challenge of establishing scalable financial processes and controls across diverse business models - from software subscription revenue to product sales to service delivery- while each business unit is still defining its go-to-market strategy and scaling operations.
The Accounting Manager will serve as the day-to-day financial steward, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with applicable accounting standards across jurisdictions. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with significant opportunity for professional growth as the company scales.
What you get to do!
  • Manage multiple business units with a focus on process improvement and infrastructure build-out to driving efficiency
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting (accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash activities) ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations, journal entry review, and variance analysis
  • Invoice customers and execute revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 principles across diverse revenue streams, including SaaS, professional services, and physical product sales
  • Set up, manage and track customer orders and projects from order to collection
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
  • Develop accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Administer the complete commission lifecycle, applying ASC 340-40 standards for proper capitalization and amortization while maintaining documentation and cross-functional relationships
  • Drive scalable process improvements and infrastructure build-out
  • Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors, general managers and other member sites
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of the Company's financial information
  • Operate with detail-oriented and fact-based approach, applying best practices where needed
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as assigned

What you bring to the Team
  • 4+ years of overall accounting experience
  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree, preferably in accounting
  • Self-starter mindset essential to independently drive month-end close and resolve financials without heavy oversight, addressing past gaps in initiative.
  • Comfort managing 3 to 6 diverse business units with varying complexity
  • QuickBooks' experience preferred, but not required
  • Works well independently, but understands importance of working as a team
  • Ability to multitask and work towards tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy
  • High integrity balanced with commitment to excellence and very strong attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC606
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel
Additional Details:
  • Location: Framingham, MA - Hybrid work week 3 days in / 2 days remote
  • Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $88,000 to $125,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive compensation (LTIP), in addition to a competitive benefits package.
