Financial Controller

We are seeking a Financial Controller to become an integral part of our team! You will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. This position will oversee all accounting and financial operations, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to improve processes while supporting company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all accounting and financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

  • Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and maximize profitability and return on investment.

  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance.

  • Conduct internal audits and financial reviews to assess operational effectiveness and compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards.

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, tax professionals, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost savings to increase efficiency and accuracy.

  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to executive management to support strategic planning and business decisions.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives.

  • Support special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and business growth initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.

  • Previous experience in accounting management, controller, assistant controller, or related leadership roles.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
