Job Details:

Three Bears Alaska is looking to hire a licensed Pharmacy Manager. As a Pharmacy Manage you will oversee all aspects of the pharmacy's operations in a retail setting, ensuring the safe, efficient, and legally compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services. This leadership role is responsible for managing staff, maintaining inventory, optimizing business performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality patient care through clinical services.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Ensure prescriptions are accurately and efficiently dispensed in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Serve as the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) and fulfill all related regulatory responsibilities.
  • Maintain proper documentation for prescriptions, controlled substances, logs, and patient profiles.
  • Enforce secure storage and handling of all pharmaceutical products.
  • Counsel patients on prescription usage, side effects, interactions, and adherence.
  • Provide guidance on over-the-counter medications and general health concerns.
  • Support patient care services including immunizations, health screenings, and medication therapy management (MTM).
  • Ensure all customer interactions uphold HIPAA privacy standards and company policies.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and schedule pharmacists, technicians, and interns.
  • Ensure team members maintain proper licensure and required certifications.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote a positive team culture focused on growth, compliance, and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, including DEA and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Prepare for and support internal audits and external inspections.
  • Maintain all required operational and quality control documentation.
  • Report medication errors and adverse drug events per policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all Corporate policies, Employee Handbook standards, and safety/security procedures, and enforce compliance by pharmacy team members.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and pharmacy supplies.
  • Monitor and reconcile controlled substance inventory.
  • Minimize waste and loss through proper inventory control and return processes.
  • Review and adjust stock levels to meet business and clinical needs.
  • Drive prescription growth and clinical service performance.
  • Monitor and manage pharmacy KPIs, such as prescription volume, labor costs, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with store leadership on strategic initiatives and financial targets.
  • Manage the pharmacy budget, payroll, and operating expenses.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or assigned, including supporting corporate initiatives as needed.
  • Administer or supervise administration of immunizations and clinical services.
  • Ensure staff training and certification for clinical offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records for all clinical services rendered.
  • Promote and expand the availability of pharmacy-based health services.

Experience/Education:

  • Required:
    • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school
    • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Alaska.
  • Preferred
    • Previous retail pharmacy management or supervisory experience.
    • Strong Leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Pay Range: Starting at $166,000/annually (DOE)

Schedule:

  • Full-time

  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Work is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, occasionally lift/carry up to 25-50 lbs. .
