In the role of Senior Project Manager, we'll count on you to: 
 
  • Plan, direct and manage all aspects of the work of multi-disciplinary teams on small, medium and large data centre and mission critical facility projects through the schematic, design development and construction contract support phase of each project.
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Develop, seek approval for and implement project work plans defining the scope, resources, schedule, and budget necessary to meet the needs of each project
  • Engage resources and maintain the necessary project team composition throughout the project
  • Direct and coordinate work of all professional staff and sub-consultants
  • Communicate effectively, meaningfully and frequently with project stakeholders
  • Interface closely with local municipalities and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure designs conform to with standards/codes and gain necessary approvals
  • Prepare and conduct multi-stakeholder work sessions/presentations, charrettes, consultations, design reviews etc. as needed
  • Contribute to preparation and review of reports, design drawings and technical specifications
  • Implement QA/QC procedures for all work product
  • Coordinate workload through entire project development and ensure completion of tasks on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, coordinate and adjust work efforts of the team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of approved budgets
  • Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and with company management as needed
  • Manage several work assignments/projects concurrently
  • Travel to and attend various external site locations and offices to participate in inspections, meetings, etc.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation and corporate policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as needed
 
Preferred Qualifications 
 
  • Alberta licensed P. Eng. or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm providing services to client markets with complex and involved project approvals and implementation processes
  • PMP certification would be an asset
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in mechanical or electrical engineering design of building/facility systems
  • Additional assets include: functional familiarity with Bluebeam, MS Project
  • Good organizational skills, confident curiosity, strong analytical judgment, leadership potential
  • Ability to rigorously audit, validate, and verify all AI-generated outputs against fundamental criteria and regulations.
  • Further the position requires: 
    • Compliance with HDR and, as applicable, contractor safety policies and procedures
    • Potential attendance at job sites to support design and construction activities
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
