Manager, Content Creation and Communications- Financial Services

We’re seeking an influential content creator/manager and communicator who has experience writing high-quality and high-visibility content for executives, managing always-on content, solving complex problems using creative communications techniques, leveraging data and technology to shape engagement strategies, and working in cross-functional teams to drive results.

In Financial Services at Capital One, we believe internal and external communications go hand-in-hand. With an amazing employee culture, innovative business strategy and deep commitment to giving back to the community, we have a robust story to share with a variety of stakeholders. The thought leadership and communications strategy for our divisional president is an important part of how we organize, message and distribute this story across channels. In this role, you’ll lead content and communications efforts in a variety of channels. You will lead the strategy, writing and publishing of an external executive blog page, and drive efforts for executive reputation. You’ll be asked to take on complex problems and drive impactful solutions.

If you’re a strategic thinker, planner, problem-solver and storyteller who merges writing and data to inspire others to think differently and empower them to act, you might be our next team member. We’re looking for someone with endless curiosity; who communicates concisely but thinks big; can work cross-functionally to solve complex business needs; and is a storyteller who writes with heart and an above-and-beyond attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will be highly effective at navigating a matrix organization and influencing people by leveraging content and communications expertise, possess a knack for attacking complex problems, and have a keen ability to work within ambiguity and define the unknown. We are looking for an expert wordsmith and ghostwriter who can grasp both the internal and external landscape to strike the right tone. By joining our team, you’ll be expected to push the envelope and strive to do the extraordinary.

Who We Are

The Financial Services Communications team is made up of intentional, strategic and creative problem-solving experts. We proactively deliver innovative, relevant and engaging content in support of our divisional president, his vision and his strategy.

We constantly look for new ways to improve our output and methods, while maximizing our impact across channels readers love. We start with the why, hold a high bar on clear, consistent and people-centric communications, and ensure the solution is 100% aligned to the problem.

  • Lead internal amplification strategies for external initiatives, including divisional awards, media moments and the executive podcast

  • Contribute to social media copy writing and strategy in support of amplifying executive voices

  • Drive external executive reputation strategies, improving presence across SEO and GEO search

  • Partner cross-functionally on key initiatives with the ability to manage high-visibility projects, gather input from a variety of stakeholders, and drive results

  • Openly and actively contribute as a member of the Financial Services Communications team, identifying key opportunities and taking the lead on developing solutions that address both internal and external needs

  • Highly effective communications skills with outstanding writing abilities, including the ability to ghostwrite content in the style and voice of leaders
