Job description

Job Title: Intern - Information Technology
Location: Onsite listed in the job posting.
Internship Program Duration: September 14, 2026 - November 20, 2026
Pay: $20
Summary
Our 10-week internship offers a comprehensive and immersive experience for students interested in gaining practical knowledge and skills in the banking industry. Each week, you will be exposed to different leaders and aspects of the line of business. You will have the opportunity to complete projects that will help you understand the day-to-day operations of a bank and develop a well-rounded skillset. Additionally, you will have the chance to receive guidance from experienced professionals in the field, participate in meetings, and network with other interns and associates. By the end of the program, you will have gained valuable insights, built a solid foundation in banking practices, and potentially set the stage for future career opportunities at First Horizon.
Work schedule and number of hours worked per week (minimum: 15 - 25 hours) are flexible, within normal business hours.
The Intern will learn and assist with the day-to-day duties of One-to-Many technology teams, which could include:
  • Documenting project deliverables which could include triage and research.
  • Supporting cloud-based analytics and reporting initiatives using tools such as Azure or other cloud services.
  • Gathering and analyzing data for technology KPIs which could also include directory monitoring.
  • Collaborating with business and other technology partners
  • Technology potential areas of work include Emerging Technology, Digital Banking, Commercial Specialty, Core Banking Applications, Infrastructure, Technology Business Office, Data & Cloud, or Information Security
  • Performing all other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Full-time undergraduate student with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028
  • GPA of 2.75 or above
  • Strong interest in computer science and problem solving
  • Resourcefulness, team-oriented, enthusiastic
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-development (work or campus)
  • Ability to interface and network with people at all levels of an organization
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills

Computer and Office Equipment Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite to include word and excel
  • .net, Java or Python computer programming knowledge is a plus
  • Basic to intermediate experience in SQL
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services
  • Exposure to AI Development
  • Active Directory and directory focused documentation
  • General understanding of APIs, cloud technologies, or software development lifecycle is a plus
  • Familiar with Jira and Agile
