Job Summary: Analyst, Operational Finance Analyst

The Operational Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in understanding performance and driving profitability within the organization. This role will work closely and collaboratively with various departments, providing insights that support strategic business decisions and optimize financial performance. This is a critical role in ArchWell Health’s maturation and is a fast-paced position that will enable high-quality personal development and growth.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Data Transparency and Communication
    • Prepare monthly presentations with standard finance, operational, and clinical KPIs that enable market-level operating reviews
    • Aggregate information across data sources to create a 360-view of performance
    • Help in the development and production of dashboards and reporting tools that increase enterprise transparency and foster accountability
    • Structure analytical results in an organized, visual manner to tell a meaningful, actionable story
    • Translate complex quantitative data and information into actionable business narratives.
  • Business Performance Monitoring:
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess business performance and find areas of improvement
    • Collaborate with operational teams to identify unfavorable trends
    • Perform ad hoc analysis to identify drivers to improve financial results
  • Data Analysis:
    • Compare performance across geographies to identify high- and low-performing centers
    • Pull and review data for ad hoc projects across a variety of financial and operational metrics
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Build strong and trusting relationships with market leaders to support and ensure awareness of issues and challenges
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, accounting, operations, medical economics, and other departments to provide transparency into results
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to business partners, offering financial expertise, insights, and support to inform decision-making and drive business results

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and PowerBI
  • Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation applications with ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of key performance metrics and financial statements, with knowledge of drivers of a value-based care organization and/or health plan’s success preferred
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy complemented by problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proactive initiative in exploring and discovering opportunities to improve company performance through data analysis
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong people skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build positive working relationships

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience as an analyst focused on healthcare analytics, decision support, strategic finance, operational finance, FP&A, or medical economics
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, including formulas, PivotTables, graphing and other reporting and presentation features
  • Experience in data mining, including PowerBI and SQL experience
