Job Description:

Role Summary:
The Financial Analyst supports the organization's financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-support processes. This role is responsible for preparing recurring financial reports, analyzing financial and operational trends, supporting budget and forecast models, and communicating insights to finance leaders and business partners. The Financial Analyst will work with large datasets, financial systems, and cross-functional stakeholders to help improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:

o Analyze financial statements, market trends, and economic data.
o Assist in developing and maintaining financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability.
o Generate financial reports and presentations, effectively communicating results and trends to financial managers and business leaders.

  • Financial Planning & Budgeting:

o Participate in the budgeting and planning process, identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for revenue growth.
o Build and maintain accurate financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
o Monitor and analyze variances between actual and budgeted results, providing recommendations for course correction.

  • Strategic Support & Guidance:

o Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making across the organization.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess financial implications of business initiatives.
o Stay informed of industry trends and competitor activity, identifying potential risks and opportunities.

  • Financial Controls & Best Practices:

o Ensure adherence to accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and maintain strong internal controls.
o Participate in the monthly/quarterly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Data, Reporting & Process Improvement

o Work with financial, operational, and business intelligence data to support recurring and ad hoc analysis.
o Assist in maintaining reporting templates, financial models, dashboards, and supporting schedules.
o Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, documentation, and repeatability.
o Support data validation, issue identification, and follow-up with appropriate business partners.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in finance or accounting.

  • Experience in a healthcare environment desirable but not required.

  • Proven experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tool experience desirable but not required.

Essential Competencies:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and draw conclusions from data.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly, concisely, and compellingly to diverse audiences (financial managers, business leaders, physicians).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex formulas and functions), PowerPoint, and financial modeling software.

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
