Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Budget/Financial Analyst to support SDA's mission. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities
  • Support activities involving the Government's Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE). 
  • Perform top-level PPBE analysis and support the development of RDT&E budget justification exhibits. 
  • Communicate program and technical requirements into acquisition, planning, public release documents, and correspondence in clear, concise, and compelling terms. 
  • Develop and execute funding transfers (e.g., MIPRs) and conduct analysis using USSF financial systems. 
  • Develop documentation for and assist with the execution of budget documents. 
  • Develop annual spend plans and monthly updates based on milestone payment projections. 
  • Understand continuing resolution anomalies as they pertain to availability of funds. 
  • Pro-actively manage the spend plan to ensure contracts are funded adequately. 
  • Self-starter in problem solving and working with technical POCs to ensure budget requirements are sufficiently covered and risks are accounted for. 
  • Demonstrated creativity, foresight, professionalism, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving financial, business, administrative, and/or program management problems. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, organizing, forecasting, and maintaining financial budgets and tracking financial milestones. 
  • Create and coordinate budget and acquisition documents, including organizing meetings as needed. 
  • Understand DoD policies and regulations. 
  • Perform configuration management functions as directed by the government, to include review of deliverables to ensure contract compliance and on-time CDRL delivery. 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years relevant experience 
  • Prior experience supporting space system development or the Department of Defense 
  • Hands-on proficiency using Microsoft Office tools, principally Excel and Power Point 
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills 
  • Creative thinking skills 
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast paced organization

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. QinetiQ US considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
