Job Summary
The Financial Analyst is a full-time position that will primarily manage the operating accounting responsibilities for the Office of Research and will report directly to the Senior Financial Analyst.
In this role you will be in charge of external sales and service centers, One Card reconciliations, cost centers reconciliations, accounting, and budget journals. You will also manage intellectual property accounting and processes for the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) which includes aging reports, annual reporting, and ad-hoc reports.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other Business area with experience in financial analysis and reporting. Three years of progressively responsible related financial/accounting/budget experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge of Federal Regulations, Microsoft Office, advanced knowledge of financial reporting tools (i.e. Access, Advanced Excel, Crystal Reporting, etc.).

  • Experience in UTD OneCard policies.
  • Experience in financial analysis and budget.
  • Strong computer skills particularly with MS Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Experience in providing innovation and problem solving; excellent oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Requires extreme accuracy in all phases of work.

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monthly review and reconciliation of One Card reports and cost centers.
  • Processing data, issuing invoices, and/or posting journals for internal service centers and external sales.
  • Managing OTC financials and accounting including invoicing, collections, distributions, etc.
  • Reviewing and interpreting intellectual property (IP) agreements which includes financial, equity, reporting, and other related information.
  • Requesting quarterly/annual reports from Licensees.
  • Managing IP Equity, which includes tracking, requesting documents, and submitting forms.
  • Processing invoices for payment.
  • Inputting IP/other agreements and OTC financials to Evolve.
  • Assisting with IDTs, budget journals, budget transfers, and PO close requests.
  • Assisting with annual reporting, monthly reports, and ad-hoc reports.
  • Cross-train and maintain proficiency in key processes to provide seamless coverage and support business continuity when needed.
  • Perform related duties as required or directed.
