Division Chief of Hospitalists | Beautiful Reno/Lake Tahoe
Renown Health is northern Nevada's largest not-for-profit, locally owned, integrated health network. Affiliated with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, Renown offers a robust Internal Medicine and Family Medicine fellowship program with teaching opportunities. You can expect a highly supportive, stable leadership team committed to providing resources to keep patients as the central focus of care. Renown is the leading hospital in the state of Nevada. We are seeking a Division Chief of Hospitalist who will work directly and jointly with providers in a fast, high-acuity setting. They would directly report to the Chief Executive Officer of Renown Medical Group. Renown offers a dynamic medical group with 550 employed providers. Based in Reno, Renown Health serves northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe and northeastern California and is the region's only Level II trauma center between Sacramento, CA and Salt Lake City, UT, serving a population of over 1 million patients.
Division Chief for Hospitalist
  • Will work in conjunction with the Dyad Administrative leadership,
  • Will manage driving operational performance, provider engagement, recruitment, strategic planning, analysis, and implementation of the infrastructure, processes, and systems to support effective and high-quality clinical care, education, and research, within the context of the Affiliation Agreement between Renown Health and UNR Med.
  • Direct, plan, and coordinate the work of the professional medical staff, including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, including supervision and evaluation, training, and team building.
  • Responsible for the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all activities of the program following national standards, evidence-based care, and / or regulatory requirements.
  • Develop quality metrics and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual program statistics / outcomes data.
  • Drive provider performance to meet productivity expectations and quality initiatives developed in conjunction with Renown Medical Group, UNR Med, and Renown Health.
  • Participate in and aid in developing adequate compensation models as needed.
  • Oversee clinical / peer chart review to ensure appropriateness of medical care delivered.
  • Aid practice managers in developing policies, clinical program pathways, and clinical procedures.
  • Support initiatives that will improve access, overall health, and reduce disparities in care for our communities and all Nevadans.

Academic Components of this role require the incumbent to:
  • Incorporate UNR Med and Renown Health's vision, mission, values, and strategic plans to achieve success in expanding clinical services, programs, educational, and research activities.
  • Enhance resident and student opportunities for clinical rotations and support both case-based and didactic learning.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in clinical research and publications.
  • Facilitate the development of clinical research opportunities and clinical trials for students, residents, clinicians, and other participants.
  • Support the operations of the cardiology fellowship program.
  • Address issues in cardiology care, education, and research related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • In the academic physician leadership role, the incumbent will help to develop and oversee General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac Imaging, and the Women's Heart Center, as well as be held responsible for key initiatives in driving the performance of these groups and meeting financial objectives for the organization.
