Job description

Accounting Controller for Multi-Family Property Management Company (local candidates only).
Q10 Property Advisors is searching for an Accounting Controller to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Controller will be responsible for leading and providing support to the accounting department, apartment properties, property supervisors ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with all financial regulations. You will work closely with property managers and the finance team to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights that drive business decisions.
Controller Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
  • Ensure compliance with all GAAP, tax, regulatory requirements and financial regulations.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes for the portfolio, including variance analysis and financial modeling.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, ensuring professional development and accuracy of work.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the real estate or multifamily housing industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other financial regulations.
