Kettering Health Main Campus| Kettering| Full Time| Days


Oversees the hospital labor and productivity management process and also oversees physician processing for the hospital which includes supervision of the Senior Financial Analyst. Works with administration, directors and staff to ensure ongoing communication and efforts to achieve corporate goals for financial improvement/cost reduction are maximized.

Reports to: Director of Finance

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and equivalent work experience of at least five years.

Direct supervision of personnel preferred and MBA degree or completion of CPA exam preferred.

Required Skills

Knowledge of hospital operational structures; gathering and evaluating data for planning, monitoring and recommending changes in operations; communicate effectively to non-financial peers.

Proficient in Microsoft applications and able to adapt to working with many different platforms to manage operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Productivity

Provide report bi-weekly with the most current productivity run and explanations/action plans for departments that are not meeting approved standards of operations.

Complete FTE request list for Executive Council team each week, including business cases as appropriate. Communicate any held positions to requestors as applicable.

Provide appropriate FTE request list to Kettering Health Executive Council based on established deadlines. Communicate any held positions to requestors as applicable.

Actively work with departments to develop action plans for productivity overages and monitor plans.

Responsible for reviewing productivity on an on-going basis, focusing on departments with known issues regarding overages. Utilize this review to provide updates to senior leadership, as necessary.

Review current staffing levels to identify areas of opportunity.

Reconcile labor budget (FTEs) vs. fixed dollar budgets to understand where there may be discrepancies (both positive and negative).

Provide training to department leaders on productivity tools as requested.

Other Duties

In accordance with the monthly close schedules, prepare proper and complete labor accruals.

In accordance with the monthly close schedule, provide explanations for variances in labor categories.

Provide oversight to the Senior Financial Analyst regarding new physician agreements, payment processing and monthly accruals.

Provide oversight to the Senior Financial Analyst regarding monthly operations via management reporting; includes validation processes are being completed and they are accurate.

Annually evaluate, review and complete the labor budget. This includes meeting with leaders to review operations and evaluate areas of opportunity.

Other Duties as assigned.
