Job description

Starting Wage: $19.00 hour

The Soft Count Team Member (Soft Count TM) is responsible for the efficient count and drop (removal, exchange & collection of cash boxes found inside all Electronic Gaming Machines and ATM Kiosks) of currency in the Casino and the accurate accountability of such items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Removes, exchanges and collects all Electronic Gaming Machines (EGM) cash drop boxes and ATM Kiosk drop boxes and cassettes.
  • Assists Security Officers in transporting rolling carts to and from secured areas.
  • Counts, verifies and straps a high volume of currency.
  • Performs tasks with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness ensuring the integrity of all transactions and counts.
  • Operates and troubleshoots a variety of Soft Count equipment and technology performing maintenance as requested by management.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all Casino operation data and currency transactions.ย 
  • Multitasks on a number of projects making efficient decisions in establishing priorities with some direction from management.
  • Assists Team Leads on projects including inventory, supply orders, and equipment and drop box maintenance.
  • Other duties as directed by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor. ย  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods of time.ย 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITY

  • Minimum age requirement for this position is 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • May be required to have a valid driverโ€™s license and be insurable by TRCRโ€™s insurance agency.ย 
  • Strong organizational skills, and detail orientation required.
  • General understanding of computer programs, including all windows applications required.ย 
  • Cash handling and or clerical experience using cash registers or other business machinery preferred.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.
  • Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
  • Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.ย ย 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend, kneel and squat frequently.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.
