Job description

Definition
Under general supervision, performs technical, administrative, and supervisory work to coordinate and provide support to the leadership of the school.  Work involves supervising, coordinating, and participating in a large variety of complex clerical, technical, and other duties reaching into most parts of the school.  Within the limits of the employee's assigned authority, the employee is expected to analyze and resolve problems independently.  The employee is also responsible for assimilating information from a variety of sources to compose letters, generate reports, and provide informational data.  Unusual situations arise with some frequency requiring discretionary judgment, analysis, and independent action.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Principal, the Business Manager will be the primary staff person responsible for the following functions:
Custodial Scheduling.
Custodian duties/responsibilities.
Ordering of supplies.
Facilities management (facility rental schedule/agreements/arrangements).
Follow up on work order requests by school staff and generate necessary work orders to the district Facilities Department.
Bus routes.
Bus scheduling.
Bus Driver supervision with the Lead Bus Driver.
Bus Driver payroll with the Lead Bus Driver and the Financial Secretary (reviewed and approved by the Principal).
Manage bus responsibilities for feeder area with the implementation of the two-tier bus system.
Lawn/grounds maintenance.
School liaison to District Facilities Department, Transportation Department, School Nutrition Department, Technology Support Services.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be prompt and reliable.
Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Ability to be tactful and courteous.
Ability to operate a variety of office machines.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures.
Ability to file records and reports in proper and sequential order.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, departmental and school managers, employees, and the general public.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, crouching, reading, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and use fingers to operate a computer terminal and other office equipment.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience
Minimum of High School Graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of two years post-secondary business/office education preferred.
Must be proficient in Word and Excel and utilize other software programs as needed.

Classification:  Non-exempt

Salary: (Entry level grade 59, step 00)
