Construction Project Manager

Location: Hamilton, VA  20158 (travel to regional jobsites as needed)
Job Type: Full-Time

SEG, Inc. is a design-build general contractor specializing in commercial, institutional, and government construction projects. We are seeking a Project Manager I to manage projects from origination through closeout while ensuring success in schedule, budget, quality, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full construction project lifecycle including scheduling, contracting, buyout, financial management, and closeout

  • Coordinate with owners, architects, and design professionals to determine project requirements and maintain client satisfaction

  • Obtain and manage permits and regulatory prerequisites

  • Partner with superintendents and visit jobsites as needed to support field execution

  • Evaluate projects for constructability and identify value engineering opportunities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard tools

  • Manage subcontractors and support self-performed work activities when applicable

  • Maintain project controls including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and documentation logs

  • Track project costs, manage changes in work, and ensure budgets are maintained

  • Prepare monthly owner requisitions and maintain communication with vendors

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations

  • Support estimating efforts, subcontractor outreach, and proposal strategy

  • Mentor and support other project team members

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • 5–7 years of experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor

  • Experience managing subcontracted and self-performed work

  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, especially renovations and institutional work

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, Bluebeam, and other construction software

  • Government contracting experience preferred

  • OSHA 30 preferred

  • PMP or EIT credentials a plus
