Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise analytics and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Power BI, data visualization, dashboard strategy, and analytics solution delivery, with a strong understanding of how to transform complex data into actionable business insights.

This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on technical capabilities. The candidate will oversee Power BI development initiatives, establish visualization standards and best practices, collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, and mentor BI developers and analysts. The ideal candidate has experience designing scalable semantic models, implementing governance frameworks, and delivering user-centered dashboards that drive decision-making across the organization.

The Power BI Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize business needs, and ensure successful delivery of analytics solutions that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
• Manage and mentor a team of BI developers, analysts, and visualization specialists.
• Establish and enforce Power BI development standards, governance practices, and visualization best practices.
• Design scalable and optimized Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reporting architectures.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
• Develop visually compelling dashboards and reports that effectively communicate key metrics and performance indicators.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Partner with data engineering and technical teams to ensure reliable data integration, transformation, and reporting performance.
• Oversee dashboard wireframing, prototyping, and layout design to ensure intuitive user experiences and effective storytelling.
• Optimize Power BI reports for performance, scalability, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Manage project timelines, priorities, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
• Present findings, recommendations, and analytics solutions to executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Support Power BI administration activities including workspace management, deployment pipelines, security, governance, and usage monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, and data visualization, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI including:
• Power BI Desktop
• Power BI Service
• DAX
• Power Query (M)
• Data modeling and semantic layer design
• Row-level security and governance
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles, dashboard design best practices, and data storytelling.
• Experience designing enterprise BI solutions and scalable reporting architectures.
• Proven experience leading analytics or BI projects from requirements gathering through implementation and deployment.
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience collaborating with data engineering, ETL, or cloud platform teams.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, or related modern data platforms is preferred.
• Experience implementing BI governance frameworks, development standards, and deployment processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Power BI Certification(s) such as:
• PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
• Fabric Analytics Engineer certifications
• Experience leading enterprise-wide Power BI adoption initiatives.
• Knowledge of Agile project delivery methodologies.
• Experience working in consulting environments or managing client-facing analytics engagements.
