A Finance Leadership Program (FLP) is a structured, rotational development program offered by many large organizations to cultivate future leaders in finance. Participants typically rotate through various finance functions such as accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and internal audit over a period of 2-3 years. The program is designed to provide broad exposure, hands-on experience, and mentorship while building leadership and technical skills. Upon completion, graduates are often placed in key finance roles within the company, positioning them for accelerated career growth.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect as a participant in a finance leadership program?

Participants in a Finance Leadership Program typically rotate through diverse assignments such as financial planning and analysis, internal audit, treasury, and business unit support. These rotations offer hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making. You will often collaborate with cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to different business units and leadership styles. This structure is designed to build a well-rounded financial skillset and prepare you for advanced roles within the organization.

Job description

Head of Finance amp; Business Analytics
Ashbourne Enterprises
Louisville, KY
Full-Time | Exempt | In-Person

About Ashbourne Enterprises
Ashbourne Enterprises is a dynamic, multi-entity organization with operations spanning hospitality, retail, agriculture, events, and related ventures. We are building businesses that are both operationally excellent and deeply experience-driven — and we are looking for a finance leader who can help bring clarity, discipline, and strategic insight to a complex and growing environment.

Position Summary
Ashbourne Enterprises is seeking a Head of Finance amp; Business Analytics to lead financial reporting, analytics, forecasting, and decision support across a multi-entity operating environment.
This is not a traditional back-office finance role. This leader will play a central role in helping the CEO and senior leadership team understand performance, improve margin, strengthen cash discipline, and build the financial infrastructure needed to scale.
The ideal candidate is both highly strategic and deeply hands-on — someone who can build dashboards, improve systems, own reporting accuracy, and turn fragmented data into actionable business insight, with a desire to evolve the role in a strategic financial partner to the CEO.
What You’ll Do
Build and Maintain Dual Reporting Frameworks
  • Build and maintain dashboards for labor, margin, inventory, cash flow, and operational performance
  • Establish clear reporting frameworks for both legal/tax compliance and operational decision-making
Design Financial Models, Forecasts, and Decision Tools
  • Develop rolling forecasts, budgeting tools, breakeven models, and unit-level profitability analysis
Integrate Data Across Systems to Create One Source of Truth
  • Integrate data from systems including Sage Intacct, Revel, Paycor, InFlow, and other platforms to create a more unified source of truth
Lead Financial Discipline Across Business Units
  • Lead financial reporting and monthly close across multiple entities and business lines
  • Identify inefficiencies, cost leakage, underperforming assets, and opportunities for improved resource allocation
  • Support stronger financial governance, intercompany reporting, allocation structures, and scalable financial processes
Partner with the CEO on Strategic and Structural Decisions
  • Partner directly with the CEO on strategic planning, financial visibility, and organizational decision-making
  • Coordinate with external accounting, tax, and financial advisory partners
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 5–10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience required
  • Advanced Sage Intacct experience required, including reporting, dashboards, and multi-entity management
  • Experience in multi-entity, multi-business, or family office-style environments strongly preferred
  • Experience leading a finance function or team required
  • Strong command of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analytics, including financial modeling and systems-thinking capabilities
  • CPA or experience working closely with CPA/advisory partners preferred
  • Industry experience in hospitality, retail, agriculture, food amp; beverage, or similar operating businesses preferred
We are looking for someone who possesses the following characteristics:
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment with evolving structures and multiple simultaneous priorities
  • Exhibits independent thinking, strong initiative, and comfort making decisions with incomplete information
  • Seeks to build new systems and processes rather than maintaining established ones
  • Adapts to frequent shifts between big-picture strategy and detailed analysis
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions, identifying problems, and driving change
  • Believes that success requires persistence, curiosity, and a willingness to dig into details to understand root causes
Why This Role Matters
This role is essential to helping Ashbourne Enterprises build the financial clarity and operational discipline needed to support smart growth. Success in this role means creating stronger visibility across the enterprise, improving financial decision-making, and building systems that allow the business to scale with confidence.
Work Environment
  • Primarily in-office in the Louisville, KY area
  • Local travel between business locations in Jefferson and Oldham County may be required
  • Additional evening or weekend work may occasionally be needed based on business demands
Benefits:
  • Our comprehensive and competitive benefits package includes 401(k) retirement plan, health insurance options (traditional or HSA), dental and vision coverage, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, paid time off, and employee discounts.
