Our two-year rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) – Systems Discipline provides challenging, high-visibility assignments across the enterprise, allowing you to build a powerful global network. You will receive high-caliber training, professional mentoring, and frontline, hands-on engineering experience directly within our operational business units. This fast-paced path expands your business acumen, sharpens your systems engineering expertise, and prepares you to make a lasting impact on our global technology organization. Actively recruiting for the next cohort and program that begins June 2027. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete three 8-month rotational assignments across various U.S. locations, adapting quickly to new technology centers, business units, and systems engineering teams. 
  • Execute core engineering milestones within one or more specialized program areas, including system architecture, system integration, testing and validation, and performance optimization. 
  • Stretch your technical capabilities by taking ownership of frontline, hands-on project deliverables and system analyses. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, and program management teams to define system requirements and optimize operational architectures. 
  • Present technical reviews, test results, and strategic engineering data clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders and leadership teams.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major. Degree must be obtained by start date. 
  • Willing and able to operationally relocate to various RTX geographic locations across the United States for three distinct 8-month assignments. 
  • Relevant internship/co-op or work experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or technology environment. 
  • Experience or coursework utilizing programming languages or engineering tools, such as Python, C++, MATLAB, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) frameworks, or Computer-Aided Design/Finite Element Analysis (CAD/FEA) tools (e.g., SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS). 
  • Experience or academic coursework in one or more core systems engineering functional areas, including system architecture definition, system integration frameworks, testing and validation methodologies, or system performance optimization  

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active U.S. government secret security clearance. 
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented work style with the agility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic technology and engineering environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop structured engineering documentation, test procedures, or configuration control artifacts. 
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies and project management workflows within an engineering environment. 
  • Practical exposure to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, systems integration laboratories (SIL), or system-level test environments. 
  • Hands-on experience or academic exposure to specialized aerospace systems, including propulsion, flight controls, avionics, datalinks, or sensing technologies. 
  • Prior experience as an engineering intern or co-op within an RTX business unit (Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, or Raytheon)

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader

The salary range for this role is 52,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
