The Rittenhouse Hotel, Philadelphia's most prestigious address for luxury and sophistication, is seeking a strategic and meticulous Director of Finance. Overlooking the historic Rittenhouse Square, our hotel represents the pinnacle of high-end hospitality. We are looking for a financial leader who can balance the refined standards of a luxury landmark with the sharp analytical skills required to drive profitability and operational efficiency in one of the city's most iconic locations.

Your Impact 

In this leadership position, you will supervise and direct all financial activities of the hotel, acting as a primary steward of the property's assets. You will ensure that financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with our commitment to excellence. Success in this role requires a highly collaborative approach, working as a strategic partner to the General Manager and other operations leaders to optimize performance, manage departmental expenses, and protect the interests of the ownership.

Your Focus

  • Team Leadership: Interview, select, train, and mentor finance associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with HHM core values and luxury brand standards.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze operational data to advise hotel management on trends and opportunities to maintain a highly efficient operation.
  • Fiscal Oversight: Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses while establishing and auditing internal financial controls (purchasing, cash handling, inventories, etc.).
  • Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare, review, and present the Monthly Report of Operations and develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts in accordance with established timelines.
  • Corporate Integration: Work closely with the corporate decentralized accounting team to align property-level data with organizational financial goals and standardized reporting practices.
  • Compliance & Legal: Ensure payroll practices meet FLSA standards and assist management in maintaining licenses, permits, insurance, and vendor contracts.
  • Safety & Sustainability: Follow sustainability guidelines through the EarthView program and maintain safe work habits in accordance with OSHA standards.

Your Background and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience within the hospitality industry.
  • High proficiency in financial software and reporting tools.
  • Experience in a high-touch, luxury environment is preferred to understand the unique financial requirements of a premier property.
