Job description

NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a confidential law firm to identify a Real Estate Finance Associate for its growing finance practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with experience handling sophisticated commercial real estate financing transactions. The role offers direct client interaction, significant drafting responsibility, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced finance attorneys on complex lending matters.


Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements and related financing documents for commercial real estate transactions
  • Represent lenders, borrowers, developers, and private credit providers in acquisition, construction, bridge, and permanent financing matters
  • Manage transactions from structuring through closing while coordinating with clients, lenders, and opposing counsel
  • Prepare and negotiate ancillary financing documents, including intercreditor agreements, guaranties, subordination agreements, and opinion letters


Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Texas Bar admission
  • 3-5 years of real estate finance experience at a law firm
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate financing transactions, including construction, acquisition, bridge, and permanent loan facilities
  • Familiarity with syndicated mortgage loans, intercreditor agreements, guaranties, and related financing documentation
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client communication skills
