Job description

Job Title: Finance Technician

Department: Administrative

Employer: Nikiski Senior Citizens, Inc.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm OR as needed (hybrid/flex is possible

Wage: $22-24/hour, DOE. Potential increase after a 90-days

Qualifications:

The Finance Technician is responsible for maintaining the organization’s financial records, including financial reporting, cash flow management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role ensures financial integrity and manages all financial aspects related to operations, payroll, banking, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting.

Job Description:

Financial Management & Reporting

· Oversee and manage all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

· Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and financial reports.

· Maintain accurate records of revenue streams, including rentals, donations, gaming, and memberships.

· Ensure timely invoices and collection of payments.

· Oversee bank deposits and reconciliations, including petty cash transactions.

· Manage general and Bingo petty cash funds, ensuring appropriate tracking and replenishment.

· Submit and review financial reports such as Meals on Wheels (MOW) and Medicaid waiver reports.

Accounting & Payroll

· Process payroll transactions and postings for accuracy.

· Manage accounts payable and receivable, including posting auto payments and reconciliations.

· Input cash receipts and A/P invoices for various funding sources.

· Oversee invoicing for service area payments, private pay MOW clients, and housing clients.

Operational & Administrative Duties

· Maintain financial files, including payroll, grants, tax documents, and other important records.

· Ensure timely correspondence and communication related to financial matters.

· Process financial reports for gaming operations, including Bingo, STP, and pull tabs.

Compliance & Oversight

· Ensure compliance with financial regulations, grant requirements, and internal policies.

· Maintain personnel files and W-9s for financial compliance.

· Support requests from the Executive Director (ED) the Board of Directors (BOD) as needed.

· Maintain historical documents per record retention requirements.

Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Training or experience in a finance position. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.

· Experience in non-profit finance.

· Experience in financial reporting, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end closeout.

· Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

· Experience using spreadsheet applications for financial reporting, data analysis, and budget management.

· Ability to generate and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts using accounting software and/or Excel.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to manage complex financial transactions.

· Knowledge of financial regulations, grant reporting, and compliance requirements.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with executive leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
