Job description

The School of Business and Leadership (SBL) at Doane University is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance. The SBL at Doane University is ACBSP-accredited and serves both undergraduate and graduate students at campuses located in Crete and Lincoln, Nebraska. The SBL provides a highly collaborative and collegial environment that is very supportive of teaching, scholarship activities, and faculty development.

Responsibilities will include teaching a total of up to 24 credit hours per academic year across a variety of finance courses. Course modality could include both online and in-person sections. Course location could include both Crete residential campus and Lincoln non-residential campus, teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. We have a strong interest in faculty with expertise in one or more areas, including corporate finance, fintech, investments, financial planning, and business valuation.

The anticipated start date for the position is August 2027.

  • Ph.D. or DBA in Finance earned or in progress
  • Academically qualified to meet ACBSP accreditation standards
  • Successful experience as an instructor in finance
  • Commitment to ongoing professional activity and scholarship
  • Candidates must have knowledge of methods to effectively instruct, motivate, and evaluate both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as:
    • Teach across a variety of modalities
    • Engage in faculty scholarly and service activities
    • Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the SBL
