We are looking for a motivated, analytical, critical thinker who has a track record of crafting solutions for challenging business gaps and problems to join our team. As a member of the Operations Finance organization, you will drive key initiatives to improve the quality and timeliness of insights provided to business leadership, assisting them in understanding financial and product cost performance, develop tools to enable proactive financial management, and provide insights to enable critical business decisions. In this role, you will apply fundamentals of project management, leading and ensuring successful execution of initiatives which will help our business progress and meet their goals. You will lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects, present to senior leaders within our Finance and Operations organizations, develop new insights and lead processes across our team. We are seeking a storyteller, who can clearly articulate complex concepts and translate numeric financial results into meaningful programmatic and operational performance narratives. The individual should possess excellent financial acumen and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will be working day to day using Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting, OneStream (Blue Origin's Financial Planning tool) and Costpoint (Accounting system). This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

This role is available on-site in Kent, Washington or Huntsville, Alabama with relocation provided.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with creation of models for financial reviews, cost benefit analysis, and metrics
  • Be the conduit between Operations Finance and Program Finance
  • Conduct monthly product cost analysis, develop KPIs and provide insights on Operations touch and support labor performance drivers against targets
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of product cost models, assumptions, and the translation to a financial forecast
  • Data mining across complex data sets; Databricks; Redshift; SQL
  • Drive quarterly resource forecasts (Labor, Capital) for assigned programs
  • Compile estimate at completion (EACs) for major capital projects
  • Identify operational and financial risk & opportunities with potential solutions; assist with recovery plan development
  • Analyze and report financial performance variances of actuals to budget and forecast
  • Support key business analytics and key performance indicator generation
  • Support and assist with internal initiatives for new products for internal customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other highly analytical field
  • 8+ years of financial and business analytics experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a self-motivator.
  • Ability to develop pricing models based on multiple inputs including market conditions, competition, and other constraints
  • Strong analytical skill set and high attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel Power Query, Power Pivot
  • Experience in helping business leaders meet financial targets and deliver results
  • Understanding of underlying business processes and the impact of financial decisions
  • Strong skills in running meetings and preparing executive-level presentations

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $124,476.00 - $174,265.35
