WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 8+ years in FP&A or finance leadership, with 3+ years in a director or senior manager role
  • Multi-location or multi-unit retail/dealership environment experience
  • Hands-on experience building enterprise-wide budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Proven track record managing and developing an analytics team
  • Experience presenting financial insights to C-suite and senior operational leaders
  • Background in cost savings, process improvement, or operational finance initiatives
  • Highly preferred: demonstrated record of automating finance or reporting processes by deploying AI tools such as Anthropic's Claude, Databricks AI/ML capabilities, or similar large language model solutions resulting in measurable reduction of manual labor and improved efficiency
  • Highly preferred: FP&A experience in auto, RV, powersports, or multi-location dealership environment including budgeting and forecasting at the dealership level across all major departments (New, Used, F&I, Service & Parts)
  • Highly preferred: Deep understanding of per-unit economics in a dealership context including front-end gross, back-end gross, PVR (per vehicle retailed), and service absorption rate as key performance drivers
  • Highly preferred: Experience building and monitoring dealership-specific KPI dashboards including unit sales pace, gross profit per unit, F&I penetration rates, service RO counts, technician efficiency, and inventory turn
  • Highly preferred: Experience partnering with dealership operations leaders including General Managers, Region Presidents, and department heads in F&I, Service & Parts, and Sales to set targets and drive accountability
  • Highly preferred: Experience partnering with marketing leadership to analyze and measure campaign ROI, cost per lead (CPL), cost per sale (CPS), digital advertising efficiency, and the financial impact of marketing spend on traffic, unit sales, and gross profit across a dealership network
  • Highly preferred: Proven ability to analyze and optimize inventory mix strategy including new vs. used ratio, OEM model mix, price point distribution, and days' supply by segment and translate findings into actionable recommendations that improve turn rates, reduce floorplan carrying costs, and protect gross profit
  • Highly preferred: Experience identifying slow-moving or aged inventory trends and working cross-functionally with inventory, marketing, and sales leadership to develop pricing, merchandising, and promotional strategies to accelerate retail velocity
  • M&A environment experience a plus (forecasting for acquired entities, integration planning)

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the CFO and serve as a key finance business partner to the executive team
  • Lead the analytics department responsible for all Power BI dashboards and reporting across the company
  • Own the annual budget process and rolling forecast model across all 100 dealership locations
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial targets to Region Presidents and department heads (Marketing, Inventory, F&I, Service & Parts, Sales)
  • Monitor performance vs. budget/forecast and hold business leaders accountable through regular cadence of reporting and review
  • Partner with operations to identify KPIs and translate data into meaningful business insights
  • Drive cost savings initiatives and special projects from financial analysis through execution
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller on close reporting and consolidated results
  • Leverage Databricks for data pipeline oversight and advanced analytics development
  • Identify and implement AI-driven automation opportunities across FP&A and finance operations, utilizing tools such as Anthropic's Claude and Databricks-native AI/ML features to eliminate manual workflows and scale analytical capacity
  • Continuously improve forecasting models, reporting tools, and analytical processes

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE TABLE:

 

  • Advanced Excel – complex financial models, scenario analysis, dynamic forecasting (required)
  • Power BI – dashboard design, DAX, report automation, enterprise deployment (required)
  • Databricks – familiarity with data Lakehouse environment and working with data engineering teams (required)
  • Python – data manipulation, automation, and financial modeling scripting (preferred)
  • AI & Automation – hands-on experience deploying LLM-based tools (Anthropic Claude or similar) and Databricks AI/ML features to automate reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, or other finance workflows (highly preferred)
  • Marketing Analytics — ability to measure and interpret CPL, CPS, lead source performance, and digital spend efficiency in relation to unit sales and gross profit outcomes (highly preferred)
  • Inventory Mix Analysis — proficiency in modeling new vs. used ratios, segment-level days' supply, price band distribution, and turn rate optimization across a large, multi-location vehicle portfolio (highly preferred)
  • Cross-functional Partnership — proven ability to sit at the intersection of finance, marketing, and inventory to connect data insights to merchandising decisions and drive measurable sales performance improvements (highly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of dealership or multi-unit retail P&L drivers (F&I, Service & Parts, Sales, Inventory)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills — able to translate complex data into clear narratives for non-finance audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive accountability across a large organization
  • Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and hands-on execution capability
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven growth environment
