Are you an ESG professional with a passion for driving sustainable finance in emerging markets? SLR is seeking a Sustainable Finance Consultant to lead impactful projects across the Americas, partnering with financial institutions to deliver actionable solutions that advance environmental and social sustainability.

We are SLR Consulting (Canada), an 800+ team of advisory, environmental and engineering, and regulatory professionals across 20+ office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services through the integration of over 30 disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. Success in the Sustainable Finance Consultant role is built on a combination of deep ESG expertise, strong project management skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with financial institutions and projects sponsors across diverse geographies. It will also require a strategic mindset to identify and capture new business opportunities, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to delivering high-quality, impactful sustainable finance advisory services.

Responsibilities

Manage and deliver projects, including the management of client engagements, ensuring successful outcome while minimizing commercial and health & safety risks

Support business development and sales, with a focus on the Americas, including supporting new or existing financial institution clients and opportunities, supporting proposal preparation and securing project work. The opportunities will be spread across various ESG topics but will primarily focus on E&S due diligence, E&S management systems, E&S performance monitoring and evaluation, and E&S reporting.

Competitive total compensation plan including vacation, RRSP, comprehensive benefits, and asuite of wellness initiatives. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications

Minimum Five Years' experience working with financial institutions on ESG, with project experience in the Caribbean, Central and/or South America and other emerging markets

Strong experience applying international best practice ESG standards and benchmarks such as the IFC Performance Standards, WBG EHS Guidelines, and Equator Principles

Demonstrated project management skills

Analytical skills to interpret technical E&S information to manage potential risks and opportunities, and to propose actionable recommendations

Proficiency in English and Spanish; additional languages such as Portuguese is considered an asset

Ability to communicate clearly and foster collaborative relationships across international and multicultural settings
