Position Highlights

This role supports the financial operations of RIT Club Sports, working closely with student-athletes, club officers, coaches, Recreation and Wellness staff, university departments, and external vendors. It offers a unique opportunity to combine financial administration with student engagement, helping ensure the success of a vibrant and active club sports program.

The successful candidate will contribute directly to the student experience by overseeing purchasing, travel expenses, reimbursements, payroll-related

documentation, and financial reporting for Club Sports. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy detail-oriented financial work while building strong relationships and providing exceptional service to students, coaches, and campus partners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the financial operations of RIT Club Sports by managing budgets, purchasing, travel expenditures, and financial transactions that enable student-athletes and clubs to participate and compete successfully.
  • Partner with student leaders, coaches, and Recreation and Wellness staff to ensure compliance with university financial processes while providing outstanding customer service and guidance.
  • Gain valuable experience in higher education finance, budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting while working with a wide range of campus stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in enhancing the student experience by supporting one of RIT's largest student engagement programs through efficient and accurate financial administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Tracks spending, ensuring all financial activities align with university priorities and guidelines
  • Records and processes day-to-day financial transactions. Collects and maintains accurate financial records and data in compliance with RIT policies and local, state, or federal regulations
  • Conducts financial analyses for special projects and provides detailed reporting on expenses and budget variances
  • Coordinates procurement activities in support of the financial operations
  • Supports human resources and financial administration by preparing and processing relevant documentation, ensuring accurate payroll and benefits records
  • Ensures timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasting by collaborating with departmental teams, enabling effective budget management and strategic decision-making
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of accounting, finance, and budgeting practices and protocols to ensure accurate financial management and compliance
  • Knowledge of enterprise-wide financial applications and Microsoft Office
  • Skill in analyzing financial data and preparing detailed reports to support decision-making and budgeting activities
  • Skill in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and customer service
  • Ability to maintain organized and accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and tracked
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree in related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
