Job description

This position reports to the Quality Manager and will perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with established work orders and Quality Management System requirements. Has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

This position reports to the Quality Manager and will perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with established work orders and Quality Management System requirements. Has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.


Essential Functions:

  • Ensure that processed hardware meets or exceeds all applicable requirements.
  • Inspect products to blueprint, engineering drawings, and work orders.
  • Verify supplier certifications meets TVT purchase order requirements.
  • Perform verification of product identification.
  • Carry out surface plate inspection and layout setups.
  • Perform a complete visual inspection of received in-process and end items.
  • Accept items that meet the requirements and reject those that do not conform.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports on hardware that does not meet requirements.
  • Maintain records and documentation of inspection as required.
  • Able to read and understand furnace digital charts.
  • Perform hardness testing inspection.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform micro-hardness testing inspection.
  • Perform seepage testing and helium leak testing.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use inspection hand tools including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, height gages, surface roughness finish, surface plate, profilometer, and video borescope.
  • Speak, read and write English.
  • Effectively communicate with all departments.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Working Conditions: This position takes place in a normal inspection/ office environment and may communicate with the shop floor as deemed necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. The following vision in at least one eye, either corrected or uncorrected: a minimum of Curpax N5, Jaeger #2, or equivalent at 16 inches or greater, and shall be capable of adequately distinguishing and differentiating colors. Will be tested every 12 months.

Desired Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in the inspection of manufactured hardware.
  • Experience with blueprints, engineering drawings, and inspection hand tools.
  • Familiarity with hardness testing inspection.
