Job Overview

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections and testing activities throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with established quality standards. This role supports product quality by conducting First Article Inspections (FAI), Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Final Quality Control (FQC) inspections, while maintaining accurate and detailed documentation.

The Quality Control Inspector collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify, address, and resolve quality and safety issues, and actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection and testing activities for FAI, IQC, IPQC, and FQC throughout the manufacturing process
  • Generate accurate and detailed inspection data sheets in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
  • Document inspection results, prepare First Article documentation, and compile certification packages
  • Review product build documentation and end-item data packages for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify and document discrepancies by generating nonconformance reports
  • Utilize standard inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure precise measurements
  • Verify that all inspection equipment is properly calibrated and qualified prior to use
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Conduct visual inspections to detect defects or nonconformities in materials and finished products
  • Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain accurate and organized quality records and inspection documentation
  • Report quality-related concerns to supervisors or management in a timely manner
  • Follow all company safety procedures and perform duties in a safe and compliant manner
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in quality inspection preferred
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Strong understanding of GDP, cGMP, and QMS standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience generating inspection reports and nonconformance documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to cross-train and adapt to changing priorities

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, equipment, and varying temperatures
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and handling of inspection tools
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Experience using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment is preferred
  • Must adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
