The Final Inspection Apprentice will receive basic knowledge and skills training to establish a solid foundation for working in the Quality department.
The career path will begin with learning to read drawings and specifications to gain a basic understanding of the PCB manufacturing industry and product. At the following KPIs checkpoints, it will be determined whether the Apprentice is ready to learn how to do visual inspection, and then how to do basic rework. The Apprentice will then transition fully into the Final Inspection department and start training to acquire skills needed to become a Final Inspector.
The Final Inspector is responsible for inspection of product after completion of all processes. This position requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to read and understand technical requirements of the traveler and blueprint.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret traveler requirements / blueprints.
    • Review traveler and blueprint for any special instructions prior to releasing to next quality process.
    • Ensure all print requirements pertaining to basics of board are compliant.
    • Confirm markings on board(s) along with color of solder-mask and legend.
  • Perform all types of visual inspection related to printed circuit boards using magnification equipment.
    • Review traveler for any special instructions or requirements.
    • Handle boards from the edges IAW company policy and procedures.
    • Effective use of inspection aids includes standard halo lamp and microscope.
    • Stamp all compliant boards.
  • Perform basic rework operations such as solder-mask touch-up, remove burrs/rough spots, rework damaged areas, cover exposed copper areas with solder-mask, clean and/or polish surface mount pads that can be done inside the final inspection department.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Basic computer skills- Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English written text, proper grammar, sentence structure, and clear and concise tone
  • Understand basic arithmetic in reference to instructions where interpretations are required
  • Comfortable utilizing a microscope to view objects at magnification
  • Strong attention to detail, a highly critical skill for ensuring accuracy in this role

Education and Experience:
  • Sophomore in College or Associate Degree
  • Must be able to work full time on the day shift
  • Completed courses or certificate for Quality Control and Inspection
  • Work experience in Quality Inspection.
  • 18+ years of age
  • ITAR Requirements: US Persons (US Citizens or Permanent Resident Card)
  • Interested in Electronics

Compensation and Benefits:
TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.
Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
$43,338 - $68,503
Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
