Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for accurate counting, slip sheeting, and packaging of completed jobs. Capable of constructing crates from available materials. Responsible for producing packing lists and operating heat shrink equipment. Packages finished printed materials manually or with equipment assistance maintaining customer specifications and carrier limitations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtains and sorts printed product from CAD Cutting Operator and skids.
  • Verifies quantity to be packed from customer order.
  • Selects proper size carton for packaging finished goods.
  • Operates and maintains packaging equipment necessary to pack merchandise.
  • Wraps protective material around product.
  • Labels bags of finished goods and gives them to Finished Goods Handler for delivery to Shipping Department.
  • Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of bagging process.
  • Maintains run rate of parts per shift.
  • Understands and implements all safety standards in all job duties performed in this role.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or required.
  • Must work well with others-this is a team effort with shared responsibilities.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
