Job description

Position Purpose:
The Set Construction Specialist is a hands-on builder, storyteller, and visual problem solver. This role is part of the Creative Media Productions team and is responsible for assisting in turning ideas into creative content, physical environments, and visual tools that support GTN's media, teaching, and storytelling efforts. This role will assist in the development of sets, props, and cinematic elements used in film, stage, and other ministry projects. This role also combines craftsmanship and production knowledge to support the creative vision from idea to execution. The Set Construction Specialist works closely with the Design team and the other teams at the ministry that work to develop and build sets and props.
Essential Duties:
  • Collaborate with the team to develop original content ideas for visual storytelling or themed environments
  • Build and fabricate sets, props, prototypes, and displays for productions or film
  • Use various tools and materials (wood, paint, foam, cloth, etc.) to build functional and beautiful pieces
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, tools, and inventory
  • Capture scenes or assets for internal projects, product mockups, or visual demos
  • Help solve practical design and production challenges creatively and efficiently
  • Support cross-team creative needs including events, set pieces, and media
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong hands-on problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively operate a Mac and Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to take initiative

Requirements:
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required
  • A Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred
  • Must pass all required checks

Experience:
  • Experience in creative fabrication (sets, props, displays, or scenic design)
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience
