With safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo, Beneful, Cat Chow, Dog Chow, Friskies, Purina ONE, and Pro Plan. Our factory also does its part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's strong logistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.As a Controls Engineer, you?ll provide controls engineering leadership and support to the production, engineering, and maintenance teams. In this role, you?ll work directly with the Plant Controls Group, specifically with PLC programming, project execution, HMI/SCADA, and instrument calibrations to drive continuous improvement on automated processes and equipment. Prepare to design and approve electrical installations per codes and standards, ensuring the reliability and performance of site power distribution systems through technical oversight.To support plant operations, this position will work an off-shift schedule. Candidates must be open to working either a 2nd or 3rd shift (not both), with shift assignment based on candidate preference and business needs.Provide PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support for the factoryAssist in scope development, requirements, and objectives for electrical and controls projectsCoordinate and implement control system software and hardware upgradesDevelop and maintain the long-term electrical and controls infrastructure plan for the factoryMaintain current and complete electrical and controls as-built documentationAssist in maintenance staff training and developmentRequirementsBachelor?s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years? of experience with electrical troubleshooting, PLC logic system design, technical data interpretation, and hardware application specification in an industrial manufacturing environment.ORAssociate?s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years? of experience with electrical troubleshooting, PLC logic system design, technical data interpretation, and hardware application specification in an industrial manufacturing environment.The approximate yearly pay range for this position is $90,000 - $124,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
