PHARMACY TECHNICIAN(S)
PHARMACY DEPARTMENT
Under the direction of the Manager, Pharmacy the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for performing technical and clerical tasks within the Pharmacy Department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting/delivering orders and pharmacy supplies from/to the nursing units
- Entering information into relevant pharmacy computer systems
- Preparing, filling and delivering all medication orders- first doses, unit-dose cassettes, extemporaneous preparations, IV',s narcotics and stock items
- Manufacturing sterile products using aseptic techniques and extemporaneous preparations
- Repackaging all medications including narcotics
- Maintaining all quality control records and ensures that all computer entries, manufacturing, repackaging and filling of patient specific orders are checked by a pharmacist prior to being dispensed
Qualifications &/ Registration required:
• High school diploma or GED
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB, CPhT) from an accredited school or programme which will be evaluated for approval by Pharmacy Management
• Two Years relevant work experience preferably in Pharmacy Services
Schedule: This positionparticipates in a shift rotation to include weekends and public holidays. Hours of work may change to meet the changing demands of pharmacy services required.
Salary Grade: $ 75,008.43 per annum (BP16-20)
