Job description

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN(S)
PHARMACY DEPARTMENT
Under the direction of the Manager, Pharmacy the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for performing technical and clerical tasks within the Pharmacy Department.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Collecting/delivering orders and pharmacy supplies from/to the nursing units
  • Entering information into relevant pharmacy computer systems
  • Preparing, filling and delivering all medication orders- first doses, unit-dose cassettes, extemporaneous preparations, IV',s narcotics and stock items
  • Manufacturing sterile products using aseptic techniques and extemporaneous preparations
  • Repackaging all medications including narcotics
  • Maintaining all quality control records and ensures that all computer entries, manufacturing, repackaging and filling of patient specific orders are checked by a pharmacist prior to being dispensed

Qualifications &/ Registration required:
• High school diploma or GED
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB, CPhT) from an accredited school or programme which will be evaluated for approval by Pharmacy Management
• Two Years relevant work experience preferably in Pharmacy Services
Schedule: This positionparticipates in a shift rotation to include weekends and public holidays. Hours of work may change to meet the changing demands of pharmacy services required.
Salary Grade: $ 75,008.43 per annum (BP16-20)
