As an Order Filler at Ryerson, you are responsible for filling orders as they come in through the queue and maintain warehouse workflow.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Load and unload the trucks
  • Operate lift truck, side loader, and overhead crane
  • Use SAP operating system to place, track, and fulfill customer orders
  • Package and prepare material for shipment
  • Final packaging of material per customer specification
  • Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and using prescribed safety equipment, including PPE
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements
  • Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Previous overhead crane or forklift crane experience preferred
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
  • Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, mobility, and lifting requirements
  • Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding

Salary: This position is a Union position. Per Union contract this position pays $30.36. New employees hired shall receive eighty-five percent (85%) of the full rate for the first three months of employment, ninety percent (90%) of the rate for the next three months, and ninety-five (95%) of the rate for the next six months.
