Job description

Our client, a highly regarded and growing Houston area law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Law Firm File Clerk/Runner to join their team. 1 or more years law firm experience is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run local errands for firm partners and managers
  • Read, scan, document, and distribute/route high volume incoming correspondence
  • Retrieve, organize, and file client documents and files
  • Maintain document files using case management software
  • Frequently assist in the movement of boxes
  • Monitor inventories in supply room and kitchen, and conference room set-up and maintenance
  • Assist with special projects as needed from trial teams

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manage a variety of daily tasks within the standard business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m
  • Ability to work in varying environments and be on your feet
  • Excellent oral communication, writing, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently without significant supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and complete numerous and complex assignments on time
  • Thrive on obtaining favorable results in a fast-paced law firm environment
  • Willing to work extended hours as needed to accommodate caseload demands
  • Familiar with Office 365 suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, and ability to learn contemporary technology in law practice
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs
  • 1+ years law firm experience is required.
  • This is a contracted position (90 days) subject to permanent hire.
