Loan Operations Specialist

Location Mobile

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Loan Operations Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting loan operations through collateral management, loan booking, documentation review, and ongoing file maintenance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, and delivers high-quality service to both internal and external clients.

Position Summary

The Loan Operations Specialist manages loan file maintenance, new and renewal loan booking, collateral securing and release, insurance tracking, and both electronic and physical document management. This position collaborates directly with internal teams as well as external partners such as state and local motor vehicle/titling agencies and insurance providers.

The role requires the ability to independently handle a range of administrative activities—from basic to complex—while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and service standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of collateral administration, including securing, maintaining, and releasing security interests for new and existing loans
  • Process loan booking activities for new and renewed loans
  • Perform loan file maintenance, including both electronic and physical records management
  • Handle filing, imaging, and scanning for new transactions and loan modifications
  • Ensure compliance with all insurance requirements related to loans
  • Review and validate commercial and consumer loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and quality
  • Verify and ensure accurate input of loan data into the system of record
  • Process adverse action loans and related documentation
  • Manage MoneyGram check processing activities
  • Ensure adherence to loan policies, credit requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with operational and client-facing teams to resolve loan account issues and maintain compliance
  • Provide ongoing support for the Bank’s technology systems and tools
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating professionalism, collaboration, and accountability
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the Bank’s goals and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in supporting loan activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or Accounting preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of loan processes, documentation, operations, and basic loan accounting is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and or documentation processes; Proficiency with MS Office applications. Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
