Job description

OVERVIEW

As an Art Director, you'll own the visual idea from first spark to final file. You'll partner with copywriters, strategists, designers and fellow art directors to concept and produce omnichannel campaigns — then carry them across every platform they need to live on. You'll translate marketing objectives and complex, sometimes technical subject matter into work that's clear, distinctive and true to each client's world. Expect a wide degree of creative latitude, and expect to defend and elevate your ideas in the room with clients and colleagues alike.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS

  • Concept and design omnichannel campaigns — from sketches, storyboards and roughs through polished, production-ready art across digital, social, video, print, trade and experiential
  • Take work from idea to final execution on deadline, keeping the craft high and the strategy intact at every step
  • Translate marketing strategy, positioning and audience insight into visual ideas — including making technical or scientific subject matter feel human and compelling for B2B audiences
  • Partner closely across an integrated team of writers, strategists and designers, giving and taking direction generously to make the whole better
  • Present and sell your thinking to clients and internal teams with clarity and confidence
  • Help raise the bar for the team — sharing craft, sparking ideas and bringing fresh references, tools and approaches to the group

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Three–five years of art direction or design experience, with a portfolio that shows range, conceptual thinking and finished craft (Agency experience is a strong plus; B2B, ag, food or animal-health work is even better)
  • Fluency in the Adobe Creative Suite, plus comfort with design and prototyping tools such as Figma; motion or video skills and familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools are a plus
  • A collaborative, low-ego working style — you're at your best in a team and you make the people around you better
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, and the composure to navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities and real deadlines
  • Curiosity about our categories. You don't need to be a farmer or a vet, but you should be genuinely interested in learning audiences you don't already know
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

The pay range is $65,000 - $85,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. In addition to your base pay, Curious Plot cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
