Job description

Viaero’s Network Field Technicians perform cell site installation, maintenance and network testing of the Viaero Wireless & Fiber Network. The work includes but is not limited to the installation and maintenance of cellular base station equipment, microwave radios, fiber equipment, various network infrastructure equipment, tower lighting controls, DC power plant systems and batteries. Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. without need of current or future visa sponsorship.

Other Responsibilities:

· Perform routine maintenance of cell site electronic equipment including but not limited to UMTS and LTE base stations, licensed and unlicensed Ethernet microwave radios, DWDM Fiber Optic transport equipment, Routers/Switches, DC power plant equipment including batteries, standby generators, antennae and transmission lines and/or fibers.

· Perform Fiber Splicing, terminating, testing, & locating

· Monitor the performance of the base stations and microwave for any deficiencies or improvements that need to be made. Determine and coordinate capacity additions with field and switch personnel. Determine and coordinate retune of microwave radios.

· Assist tower crew in the alignment of microwave paths.

· Assist tower crew in the repair of PCS/microwave lines and antennas.

· Assist tower crew in tower top equipment trouble shooting

· Maintain/prepare all applicable cell site records and maintenance reports.

· Required On Call rotation. During the On Call rotation period, must be available 24/7 in order to resolve after hours issues.

· Responsible for maintenance and professional appearance of service vehicle, according to company policy.

· Responsible for maintenance / cleanliness of the site compound.

Minimum Qualifications
• 2-year technical degree and/or equivalent experience.
• Current driver’s license and good driving record, and must have the ability to pass pre-employment checks, which include a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and substance screening, following federal law.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to spend at least 50% of work time traveling to and from sites via vehicle.
• Must be able to pick up at least 75 pounds and carry it a short distance.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous training and/or experience installing and maintaining Cellular base station equipment, microwave radios, fiber splicing, outside plant locating, and routers/switching equipment.
