Summary
Our client is a well-established, full-service commercial electrical contractor with operations in Reno, NV. The company provides comprehensive electrical construction and related services for a range of commercial & residential projects and has built an excellent reputation for quality workmanship, dependable project execution, safety, and customer service.
They are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial construction projects in either the Reno & Carson, NV markets. This is a key field leadership position responsible for managing the day-to-day electrical construction activities, coordinating manpower and resources, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
The ideal candidate will be a proven electrical construction leader who understands how to take ownership of a project in the field, effectively lead Foremen and electricians, coordinate with General Contractors and other trades, anticipate potential issues, and keep projects progressing toward successful completion.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day electrical construction activities on assigned commercial projects from mobilization through completion and closeout.
  • Provide strong field leadership to Foremen, electricians, apprentices, subcontractors, and other project personnel.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and other resources to ensure the project remains properly staffed and productive.
  • Review and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents to ensure proper field execution.
  • Establish daily and weekly work plans and coordinate activities with Project Managers, Foremen, General Contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Monitor project progress against established schedules and milestones, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in project scheduling, including short-term and look-ahead planning, to ensure work is properly sequenced and resources are available when needed.
  • Coordinate electrical work with other trades and proactively identify potential conflicts or constructability issues before they impact the project.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to communicate field conditions, project status, manpower requirements, material needs, schedule concerns, and potential change-order opportunities.
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery requirements, with particular attention to long-lead and specialty electrical equipment and materials.
  • Ensure electrical installations are performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable electrical codes, and project requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control throughout the project and identify, document, and correct deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular field inspections to verify workmanship, installation quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure all field personnel and subcontractors follow OSHA requirements and applicable jobsite safety procedures.
  • Lead and participate in daily huddles, toolbox talks, coordination meetings, and project planning meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports documenting manpower, work completed, material deliveries, equipment, delays, inspections, and other relevant field activities.
  • Coordinate required inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
  • Assist with resolving RFIs, design discrepancies, field conflicts, and other technical or construction-related issues.
  • Maintain effective communication with General Contractors, customers, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Provide direction, mentoring, and accountability to Foremen and field personnel while promoting a productive, professional, team-oriented environment.
  • Monitor field productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workmanship, and project performance.
  • Assist the Project Manager with change-order identification, documentation, pricing support, and field verification when necessary.
  • Help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within established budgets, and to the quality standards expected by the company and its customers.
  • Support project closeout, punch-list completion, final inspections, as-builts, and turnover activities.
  • Travel to and between assigned project sites, as needed.
Qualification & Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive commercial electrical construction experience, with significant experience in a Superintendent, General Superintendent, Senior Foreman, or comparable field leadership role.
  • Proven experience supervising and coordinating commercial electrical construction projects from start through completion.
  • Strong background managing Foremen, electricians, apprentices, subcontractors, and multiple field crews.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage commercial projects involving complex electrical installations and coordination with multiple trades.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial electrical construction methods, materials, equipment, and installation practices.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local/state electrical requirements.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and commercial construction safety practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings.
  • Proven ability to develop daily and weekly work plans and effectively manage manpower and project resources.
  • Strong understanding of project sequencing, scheduling, productivity, and construction logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify field conflicts, troubleshoot construction issues, and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with field personnel, Project Managers, General Contractors, customers, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate field documentation, daily reports, manpower reports, and project records.
  • Experience with construction/project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or comparable platforms is preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician license/certification is strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound field decisions, and take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing and able to work on active commercial construction jobsites in Reno, Sparks, Carson, and surrounding areas.
