Field Service Technician – Drive Field Operations for Electro Freeze Distributors of NYC INC


Job Overview:

  • Company: Electro Freeze Distributors of NYC INC
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $28 to $32 per hour
  • Location: Commack, NY (100% Travel to client site)
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time
  • Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week plus Overtime and  1 weekend/month on-call service
  • Project Scope: Commercial Refrigeration 
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: EPA Certified


The Opportunity:

You will serve as a core technical expert delivering high-quality commercial refrigeration service and maintenance across client locations. Joining a stable, family-owned organization with over 60 years of industry success, you will play an essential role in optimizing equipment performance for valued customers. How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Perform on-site startup, diagnostics, and high-precision repairs for commercial refrigeration equipment.
  • Recondition equipment in the shop and maintain strict quality standards on all shop assignments.
  • Operate digital and mechanical control circuits to troubleshoot complex low-temperature systems.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including work orders, mileage tracking, and warranty paperwork.
  • Manage company vehicle inventory to ensure tools and replacement parts are always job-ready.
  • Execute weekend on-call coverage on a rotating schedule to resolve urgent customer service needs.
  • Collaborate with field operations team members to maintain high customer satisfaction standards.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of commercial refrigeration experience.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean 5-year driving record.
  • Active EPA Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Proven mechanical and technical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working with low-temperature refrigeration systems using R404a and R452a refrigerants.
  • Working knowledge of both digital and mechanical control circuits.
  • Previous experience servicing commercial refrigeration or foodservice equipment; experience with frozen dessert or similar specialty equipment is a plus.
  • Refrigeration experience combined with electrical troubleshooting knowledge is a strong plus.
