About the Role

Absolute Jobs is partnering with a heavy equipment organization in Naples, FL to hire a seasoned Fleet Service Technician who keeps machinery, vehicles, and equipment ready for prime time. You’ll blend preventive maintenance with expert diagnostics to ensure uptime across the fleet.

A Day in the Life
  • Kick off with scheduled PMs, then pivot to diagnostics on diesel, hydraulic, or electrical systems as needed.
  • Use schematics and diagrams to pinpoint faults; recondition, adjust, and repair components to spec.
  • Complete accurate service paperwork for each unit you touch and communicate labor estimates to your supervisor promptly.
  • Coordinate parts: track orders, follow up on backlogs, and keep jobs moving.
  • Keep tools compliant and safe to use in accordance with MSHA and OSHA regulations; alert the Service Manager to any unsafe shop tools, equipment, or vehicles.
  • Join training directed by the Service Manager to stay sharp on new systems and best practices.
  • Tackle engine troubleshooting independently; contribute occasional programming tasks (e.g., controller/ECM-related).
  • Lift up to 50 lbs on occasion as part of normal shop and field tasks.
What You Bring
  • 10+ years as a technician or a recent technical school degree.
  • Your own set of professional hand tools.
  • Deep knowledge of heavy construction equipment across multiple makes and models.
  • Advanced proficiency reading schematics and technical diagrams.
