Job description

US Trades is seeking an experienced Bilingual Field Safety Representative to support a conveyor system installation project inside an active distribution center. This is a hands-on field safety position responsible for monitoring installation crews, reinforcing safe work practices, and maintaining a consistent safety presence throughout the project.


The normal project schedule is approximately 58 hours per week.


Responsibilities:

•Spend the majority of each shift walking the project site from crew to crew, observing work activities and monitoring employees for safe work practices.

•Monitor conveyor installation crews for compliance with company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements.

•Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and work directly with employees and supervision to make immediate corrections.

•Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job-specific safety discussions.

•Monitor proper use of PPE, ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and fall-protection equipment.

•Ensure employees working at heights are following applicable fall-protection requirements.

•Observe material handling, equipment operation, conveyor installation, elevated work, and other construction activities associated with the project.

•Communicate safety expectations clearly with employees in both English and Spanish.

•Coach employees on safe work practices while maintaining a professional and approachable field presence.

•Participate in JHAs/JSA reviews, pre-task planning, and other project safety activities.

•Document safety observations, corrective actions, incidents, and other required safety information.

•Work closely with project supervision to maintain a safe, productive, and accountable jobsite.


Requirements:

•Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.

•Current First Aid and CPR certification.

•Must speak English and conversational Spanish.

•Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements.

•Strong knowledge of fall protection and working-at-height requirements.

•Previous construction or industrial field safety experience.

•Ability to confidently address unsafe work practices and require corrective action when necessary.

•Comfortable leading daily safety meetings and speaking in front of groups.

•Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.

•Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

•Must be comfortable working inside a large distribution center around active construction and installation activities.

•Ability to work the normal project schedule of approximately 58 hours per week.


Preferred Experience:

•Previous experience supporting conveyor, material handling, automation, or distribution center installation projects.

•Experience monitoring mechanical or electrical installation crews.

•Familiarity with scissor lifts, boom lifts, elevated work platforms, rigging, material handling, and conveyor installation activities.


This is a true field safety position. The successful candidate should expect to spend the majority of the workday actively walking the installation areas, observing crews, communicating with employees, and addressing safety concerns as they arise. This is not primarily an office or administrative safety role.
