Job description

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Operations Manager to join our team in the telecommunications industry. As a Field Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our field operations, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage field teams effectively, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and a background in telecommunications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate daily field operations, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching of field technicians.
  • Lead, supervise, and manage outside plant field technicians responsible for customer service installations, testing, activations, troubleshooting, and turn-ups.
  • Oversee customer orders from fieldwork readiness through successful service activation and completion.
  • Monitor the progress of customer turn-ups and proactively address or escalate issues that may affect completion dates.
  • Coordinate field activities with Service Delivery, Engineering, the Network Operations Center, Outside Plant, customers, vendors, and partner carriers.
  • Ensure completed services meet company technical standards and that all required testing, documentation, system updates, and closeout information are completed accurately.
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify work quality, provide technical guidance, and ensure field activities are being completed safely and efficiently.
  • Provide technical support and assist field technicians with troubleshooting installation, equipment, fiber, and service activation issues.
  • Coach, train, and develop field technicians while establishing clear expectations and accountability.
  • Support network maintenance, service restoration, and other field activities when operational needs arise.
  • Identify and implement improvements to field processes, technician utilization, customer turn-up timelines, and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable industry standards.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the telecommunications or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, equipment, and technologies.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using field management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
