Job description

Job Title: Field Technician
Location: Chicago,Illinois
Department: Delivery Operations
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $22-$26/ HR based on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (occasional evenings/weekends)

Majestic Photobooth creates custom photobooth experiences for brands, venues, and events nationwide. Since 2006, we've helped make events and spaces unforgettable through creative photo technology and innovative design.
Position Overview:
We're looking for a reliable Field Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot our photobooth systems at venues and partner locations. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and working independently in the field.
Responsibilities
Event Setup & Breakdown
  • Transport, install, and configure photobooth equipment at event locations in accordance with event specifications and branding requirements.
  • Install designed panels, overlays, and branded assets accurately and securely.
  • Ensure all equipment is assembled safely, powered correctly, and fully operational prior to guest activation.
  • Safely dismantle, pack, and prepare equipment for transport following event completion.
Long-Term Installations & Venue Support
  • Execute new long-term venue booth installations in alignment with Majestic operational standards.
  • Perform on-site service visits including paper changes, hardware adjustments, and system resets.
  • Respond to assigned support tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure booth uptime and functionality across all active venue placements.
Technical Operation & Troubleshooting
  • Power on, test, and operate booth hardware including camera systems, computers, printers, and lighting.
  • Configure and verify software functionality including photo capture systems, filters, and brand assets.
  • Troubleshoot real-time technical issues including Wi-Fi connectivity, hardware errors, and printer malfunctions.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when necessary while maintaining clear documentation.
Guest Interaction & Experience
  • Greet and guide guests through the photobooth experience with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Provide assistance and encouragement to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
  • Maintain an attentive presence during activations to proactively address issues.
  • Uphold high standards of hospitality and brand representation at all times.
Equipment Maintenance & Readiness
  • Conduct pre-event and pre-installation checks to ensure equipment is clean, functional, and event-ready.
  • Verify required consumables including printer paper and ink are stocked appropriately.
  • Maintain organized inventory of field equipment and supplies.
  • Report equipment damage, wear, or recurring issues promptly.
Brand Representation
  • Uphold Majestic presentation standards for booth appearance and overall setup.
  • Act as a company ambassador in all interactions with clients, venues, and guests.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct aligned with company values.
Event Reporting & Operational Feedback
  • Submit post-event and post-installation reports detailing technical issues, supply usage, and operational observations.
  • Identify recurring challenges and communicate improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute feedback that improves future installs, events, and service workflows.
Other Duties & Special Projects
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of company growth and operational priorities.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with technical field service, AV, IT support, or electronics preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with computers, cameras, and printers

Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
