Job description

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Field Operations Representative to provide contract engineering and technical support to operators of the General-purpose Electronic Test System (GETS-1000) in Kuwait. The Field Representative will receive training in our Huntsville, Alabama office with a focus on operation and maintenance of the GETS-1000 and operation of Test Program Sets (TPSs). Following training the Field Representative will be assigned to Kuwait for a minimum of one (1) year.

Primary Responsibilities

The Field Operations Representative provides technical support to the customer on the operation and maintenance of GETS and TPSs; analyze and troubleshoot faults; collaborate with CONUS staff as necessary to assist with solutions to technical issues; track issues that occur with customer configuration; provide report of activities and status of open actions monthly. Daily operations may include:

  • Replace station instruments with spares to facilitate calibration cycle.
  • Assist in coordinating repair and return of instruments.
  • Install system software updates and TPS software revisions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-18 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Basic electrical / mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Ability to apply fault detection / fault isolation procedures
  • U.S citizenship
  • Able to obtain U.S. Passport
  • Able to meet U.S. Security Clearance Requirements
  • Able to meet the requirements for residence in Kuwait
  • Experience with the PATRIOT system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GETS-1000 and TPSs
  • Experience in OCONUS environment, especially GCC countries
