Job description

Product Cost Engineer
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Product Cost Engineer for a company based in Sulligent, AL. This role will focus on product cost evaluation for products manufactured in a plant and feasibility analysis for new RFQ. In addition, the role will collaborate with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to define the best production process during the industrialization phase.

Pay Rate
$70,000-90,000 per year.

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7 30 am to 4 15 pm.

Product Cost Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
• Estimate costs for new products or for products localization
• Use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes
• Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings for products already in production
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to during industrialization phase and to reduce time to quote
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities using AI-driven analytics

Product Cost Engineer Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (required)
• 1 –5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or product cost estimation
• Knowledge of mechanical processes, especially welding and machining
• Experience or interest in AI tools, automation, or digital transformation initiatives
• Strong background with Excel
