Job description

Field Automation Tech/Programmer

Full-time, Midland, TX

Requirements:

  • In depth knowledge of Allen-Bradley’s studio suite including RS500, RS5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk ME Suite, CCW, and Drive Executive. Must have ability to create a new PLC program/HMI Program from scratch based upon conversations and continued communications.
  • Basic programming skills in python, java, html, and adobe. Must be able to read and troubleshoot these languages. Writing from scratch a plus. Create, Update, Maintain Python data collection software for multiple devices.
  • Experience with data collection and signaling: MQTT, 4-20mA, 0-10v, Modbus, Ethernet/I
  • Knowledge of cradlepoint/sierra wireless/pepwave cellular modems. Manage the deployment of edge devices and ensure their working order
  • General serial communication knowledge including the theory/basic knowledge of ModBus protocol, ethernet/ip protocol, and ethernet.
  • General networking design and implementation of multiple secure wireless radio systems including full deployment of IP/Mac addressing. Also be familiar and comfortable with port forwards, vpns, and local networks.
  • Very comfortable with Microsoft office suite, (particularly excel).
  • Must be willing to spend at least 50% of time in the field performing service calls on various lines of equipment and multiple brands.
  • Must be willing to take on call at least once a month.
  • Must be willing to learn new products and report the advantages/disadvantages of them.
  • Person must be able to interact with other contractors and clients without issue.
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to work long days/weekends when asked.
